Postponing Windows Vista Activation!?

Windows Vista Logo

I found this very interesting article doing a Google search on “Vista Activation”. I had to put on this site to help keep this idea/article alive. I took excerpts and posted them here. You can find the full article here, http://windowssecrets.com/comp/070315/ I would suggest that everyone read this article; it’s a bit long, but it gives you a good insight to the slack these computer companies have. It does benefit us, though.  Overall; the process didn’t work for me, but it did give me some hope - at the time.  The good that came out of that is it forced me to switch to linux and I’m now, proudly, running Fefora 8. ;)

I’ve Taken Up Hockey

March 22nd, 2008 by Marc F.

Marc and his temporary splint

Ha-ha, I’m joking this picture is what my temporary splint looks like.  My wife says it looks like I’m a hockey player of some sort.  I think it looks cool anyway.  I see a hand therapist twice a week and my ortho once a week (so far).  I have hourly and bi-hourly (is that even a word) hand exercises to get the motion back.  They are working, but it’s a pain in the arss to do them every hour.  I guess that’s what I get for busting up my hand.  Well, enjoy the laugh.

Week 2: Broke Hand

March 17th, 2008 by Marc F.

I have been so out of commissioned since I broke my 5th metacarpal in my right hand.  I use my left hand for everything and my typing is horrible.  I used a couple fingers on my left hand and I keep my responses short.  I see a hand rehabilitation specialist Wednesday - for a removable splint.  After six to eight weeks I then get the rod out of my finger.  Surgery is expensive.

I Broke My Writting Hand

Boy does that suck.  A day or so after getting my new computer up - I broke a bond in my right hand. It takes too long to type with my left fingers so I’m going to stop now.

Week 5: Double Life

March 6th, 2008 by Marc F.

It’s a bit tough this week because certain things aren’t being done while my wife is incubating our third child.  I can’t really get upset with her because she’s in a difficult position.  I, and the world, want her to rest - she’s naturally tired because the baby is getting settled in her body.  So; when I get home, she goes to sleep - I take care of the two kids, put them to bed and then I go to bed, she wakes up and does her thing - sounds like a fun routine, eh!?I’m falling way behind on my web projects - for my day job and my boot-strapped business (Digital Alias).  There aren’t enough energon cubes in the day to sustain me after 9:00 PM now-a-days.  Since I’m still programming I need to have a certain level of energy to produce sound code. Or it I just end up having to recode the site later for stupid mistakes.  So; there are many things to do during the day - sometimes I wish I wasn’t so ambitious - that way I wouldn’t have to worry about my business - yet there are so many purks with having a business.  It’s crazy!

New Computer is Finally Up!

March 5th, 2008 by Marc F.

Man, I’ve waited almost 2 weeks since I put the computer together, but after a well waited period - my home desktop is up and running.  Right now it has Windows Vista Home Premium on there, but I plan on dual-booting it with Linux (Fedora or Umbutu).  I am totally excited!  I think because it’s dual-core, I can install programs and continue working all at the same time - what a machine!

It’s funny how I’ve changed over the years from when I first started with computers.  Back in the days I would make homebrew machines, making sure I had a lot of expansion options available.  Now; I could care less, I probably won’t use them.  I don’t even care about specs that much anymore.  It’s got a Nvidia 8600 video card (for gaming), 2GB DDR-2 RAM, 250GB hard drive, blah blah blah.  It’s sweet, that’s because it works!
