Man, I’ve waited almost 2 weeks since I put the computer together, but after a well waited period – my home desktop is up and running.  Right now it has Windows Vista Home Premium on there, but I plan on dual-booting it with Linux (Fedora or Umbutu).  I am totally excited!  I think because it’s dual-core, I can install programs and continue working all at the same time – what a machine!

It’s funny how I’ve changed over the years from when I first started with computers.  Back in the days I would make homebrew machines, making sure I had a lot of expansion options available.  Now; I could care less, I probably won’t use them.  I don’t even care about specs that much anymore.  It’s got a Nvidia 8600 video card (for gaming), 2GB DDR-2 RAM, 250GB hard drive, blah blah blah.  It’s sweet, that’s because it works!
