OMG!!!! OMG!!! OMG!!! How did I not know about this video project!? This movie was posted in October of 2007 at GameTrailers.com, by Monty Oum and I’m just now seeing it. There are two other entries, in this series, but it’s amazing. The first comment, was awesome, and so very true.

Northrop Grumman logo

I had my second orientation today at the Northrop Grumman, Atlanta site. My first was as a contractor (two years ago) and today as a direct employee. It’s amazing that about two years ago, I didn’t know anything about Centers For Disease Control and Prevention, nor the mega-defense contractor, Northrop Grumman – and today, I’ve joined the NGC family in their Inforamtion Systems sector. It was a long grueling day of paperwork, presentations, etc – but in the end, I think things are looking up for my career, as a self-taught web developer, and my family.

Beginning C++ Game Programming

I made a decision last week as I was juggling the “Ultimate Game Design: Building Game Worlds” vs “Beginning C++ Game Programming“. I realized that building a game world will certaintly become a necessary skill for me, but I need more hands on, at this time. The game design book is more theory, as I don’t know how to actually create a game yet.  So; I dropped… more put the book on hold… until I have some more game developing under my belt.  So; I’m back to focusing on one book. Whew! That was certainly an ambicious move, on my part. No worries though, I love this C++ book and I should have no problems finishing it.

I’m reading a book titled “Beginning C++ Game Programming” by Michael Dawson.  It’s really exciting read a C++ book, again. I haven’t touched a c++ editor nor a compiler since my college days. The last editor I’ve been in for a number of years is Dreamweaver – from 2004 up to Adobe Creative Suite 4. I did a quick search, on “linux c++ editor” and I found a program called Eclipse. Looks promising, so I’m installing it. 76 packages total.  As for my reading, its late, so, I stopped at page 4.
