A couple friends of mine introduced me to this video from Connor Anderson and Aaron Mull on YouTube. Since I’m a Dungeons & Dragons fan, I instantly loved this music video. It’s a parody song based on “Like a G6” by Far East Movement. I was surprised by how good the larping costumes were. Great Indy film.

Wow!!! I’m blown away with this EPIC BATTLE RAPS OF HISTORY series. I love the beats and these guys have some solid lyrics. These videos can be found on Nice Peter’s YouTube Channel. He’s collaborating with Lloyd Ahlquist and many others to bring these rap battles to life. I stumbled upon Peter, I think from Kassem G, and immediately subscribed to his channel. It has pretty cool music and good entertainment.

My Vote

Everyone has their own opinion, but here are my thoughts on the battles. I thought Bill O’Reilly had a solid run the entire track, Adolph started out strong, but Vader showed him who has the Force, and Abe started strong, but we all know who the master is… it’s the Chuck! I didn’t even pay attention to what Lady Gaga said, Lisa Nova is too sweet on the eyes. Hulk Hogan had a good run, but the mystery guest simply killed it! I won’t give away the surprise. Justin was week, Beethoven ushered him right out of the battle!

I saw on Nice Peter’s latest installment of Epic Rap Battles of History that he’s taking suggestions via Twitter. So; send him all your deranged combinations of history’s well known figures to battle against one another. I don’t know what I’m going to do with myself when these two groups finally release their latest albums. They are killing me with their excerpts and covers on YouTube. Here’s another great rendition of a song by Lady Antebellum. Oh; the name of the groups are: Lucas Teague and ILLumeci.

So; the title can be taken in two different lights. I’ll go with the lighter-light and say that “SCORE… Indoor Sports” is the name of the organization that I’ve signed my kids up with in order to expose them to the wonderful world of fútbol. Alexander really likes American Football, but I’m really trying hard to keep him away from that sport.  Till this very day I’m being plagued with a football-injury to my neck. Plus, I’m Jamaican, what other sports, besides Cricket, should the kids play!?

American Football

For Alex his love of American Football started with Madden NFL 2005 on the original Xbox system.  I think he really likes the gear (helmet, shoulder pads, etc). For a four-year-old he’s a pretty sore loser so we didn’t play a lot of exhibition games. For some reason Alex liked Madden NFL 2002 and we’d constantly (siliently) fight over 2002 vs. 2005. Finally; he saw it my way and chose 2005.  That game would eventually be trumped by an unlikely candidate – Sega’s NFL 2K2. It was clearly not up to Madden’s quality, but Alex loved the sound effects. All the grunting and the ease-of-play easily won his heart.  He would run around the house diving on the floor making noises he heard from 2K2.

Alex would constantly talk about football. Any other parent would say that he was destined to play. My wife and I thought otherwise and desperately tried to steer him far from it.

SCORE

Score is an indoor gym, located in Fairburn, Georgia. For me it’s literally two minutes down the street. I was introduced to this organization through a co-worker. We played flag-football, and boy did we suck! Besides the losing streak, it was very good exercise for me. Later on we found out that they do a lot of activities and fútbol was one of them. Their program is called SoccerTots. Right now Alex and Leeanne are doing simple things. Leeanne is learning to follow instructions and Alex is learning to not beat up on his teammates when he gets frustrated or angry. It’s a fair exchange.

So; for now I’m the one taking the kids to their Saturday sessions. I’m not as hot as Soccer Mom, but I’m the next best thing!

Capturing the Moments

When they first started I thought my dad would get a kick out of seeing the kids play. So; I made an effort to get some video and photos. It worked out pretty nice because I just got my hands on my new Motorola Droid.

The above YouTube video is from “My Family” playlist. I was able to record off my Droid and then upload it directly to YouTube. You gotta love technology.

This is late as hell, but I have to write about it. I was cruising some of Timothy De La Ghetto‘s videos and I came across this one, “My Date with Magibon”. The girl he was making fun of was so super-powerpuff-girls cute. She looked like the cutest 13-year old you’ve ever seen. It reminded me of Boxxy Babee from YouTube.  I found her channel and began to watch it. The more videos I saw the more I thought, “Something’s not right with this little girl. Why does she have… breasts!? Isn’t she like 8? Why does she speak like a 10 year old, but looks like a teen or young adult… and then looks like a little girl again.” Well; I found out that she was roughly 21 when she did those videos. Very odd indeed, she only spoke in Japanese.

Something about her was hypnotizing though. I couldn’t stop watching the videos. After a while though, I got bored.  It was roughly the same format AND in a language I didn’t understand.  I also found out that Japanese is a second language and she basically “played” us! Know Your Internet Meme… Magibon!

Even if Chromium is a total bust, or doesn’t “revolutionize” your computer as they are claiming… this will certainly be a giant spotlight on FOSS. Hasn’t that been our goal from the very beginning. Share the wealth of Free and Open Source Software!? Vive logiciel libre et opensource!

Costello Calls to Buy a Computer from Abbott

• ABBOTT: Super Duper computer store. Can I help you?
• COSTELLO: Thanks. I’m! setting up an office in my den and I’m thinking about buying a computer.
• ABBOTT: Mac?
• COSTELLO: No, the name’s Lou .
• ABBOTT: Your computer?
• COSTELLO : I don’t own a computer. I want to buy one.
• ABBOTT : Mac?
• COSTELLO: I told you, my name’s Lou .
• ABBOTT : What about Windows?
• COSTELLO : Why? Will it get stuffy in here?

Now that I’ve been exposed to the harsh reality that I’m getting older, let me know if this was your first time being exposed to the famous Abbott and Costello comedy duo from the black & white days of television.

This Skit’s Ownership

Edited 05 October 2009. I recently got a comment from Tom King saying that he is the originator of this Abbott and Costello computer skit. He stated that it’s copy written and has no issues letting us use it as long as we link back to his site. I have to issues linking back to the source. I would like to make it known that I don’t know who Tom King is and in our SEO-driven world, this could be a ploy to get more traffic to his site. Oh well. I don’t know how I ended up wasting time out of my day with this Michael Ian Black fella, but it’s all Levar Burton’s fault.  It all started with a Twitter post he did and I started following link after link after link and found this YouTube video on Michael’s children book titled, Chicken Cheeks.  I’d like to buy it… see what my kids think of it.
